Paris, Paris!

What a weekend!
First time in Paris, first first time that we did Couchsurfing. Both things were just great. I have never felt both as a tourist and at the same time never saw so much of the ‚local‘ culture of the city thanks to our hosts.
We were pretty much doing all the tourist sightseeing: Tour Eiffel, Arc de Triumph, Musée D’Orsay, Notre Dame, Monmatre. We had great luck with the weather and breathtaking view from the Eiffel Tower.

Aditionally I was told to go to Cimetière du Père-Lachaise, a cemetery, where important people such as Chopin, Balzac, Wilde or James Morris are burried.

We also hit a lot of gardens, for example Jardin du Luxembourg, where there is also the Senat’s building.
We either walked to the places, took the metro or, and that was really cool, used a vélib, bikes that you could get at every corner of the city.IMG_9430
The evenings we spent with our nice hosts, a young couple living in a fancy neighborhood near Monmatre. We had good talks, good drinks and good food. We were to a place called Le Big Fernand, where they serve Burgers with smelly french cheese on it, the most delicious meat and sauces and a good deal of real french fries. Definately something for foodies. On sunday we went to celebrate Chinese New Year in a very small (like really small) cantina in the Chinese Neighborhood in near Metro Belleville. The food was fresh, authentic and so good. We usually ended up partying Paris Style, drinking nicely selfmade cocktails and waking up the neighbors. Thanks for the nice weekend, guys.
